Pedestrian killed in Tampa car crash
On May 3, 2015, TampaBay.com reported that a pedestrian was killed in a car crash on Florida Ave. in Tampa.
The operator of the car was driving south on Florida Avenue in the outside travel lane approaching the intersection of Floral Drive around 8:50 a.m. while the pedestrian, was walking in the outside southbound lane.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the car failed to observe the pedestrian and struck her. Authorities said that the pedestrian was transported to Tampa General Hospital and died as a result of her injuries.

Sadly, pedestrian accidents occur frequently. The National Complete Streets Coalition ranked Tampa Bay second worst in the nation in pedestrian deaths.
